“Experience the Art of Adventure”
We are unable to re-open due to issues with the building’s fire/life safety systems. We hope to have these resolved soon so we can welcome you back to our magnificent Industrial Cathedral!
108 West 2nd Street, Suite #101
LA, CA 90012
The Edison celebrates an era of invention and imagination– the blending of science, art, and industry. Enjoy artisanal cocktails and signature dining within an industrial cathedral crafted from the architectural and mechanical artifacts of LA’s first private power plant.
Located in the sub-basement of the historic Higgins Building, the site of a revolutionary power plant designed to signal a new future for Downtown Los Angeles, we are proud that this once forgotten space is once again leading the way for the Renaissance of Downtown LA’s Historic Core.
By creating living history, Andrew Meieran’s award winning design celebrates an era of invention and imagination– the blending of science, art, and industry. The space retains many of its architectural and mechanical artifacts from its history as Downtown LA’s first private power plant. The design combines styles ranging from Art Nouveau to Industrial Gothic in order to create a lavish Industrial Cathedral—a space that needs to be experienced more than just seen.
A blend of the past, present, and future, The Edison inspires the romance of such legendary nightspots as The Cocoanut Grove and Ciro’s while reminding us that we live in a City of dreams and at a time of great invention.
We are dedicated to a resurgence of old world style and sense of romance that once dominated Los Angeles Nightlife. Thus innovative, sophisticated and cultured attire is highly encouraged.
Our Dress Code is enforced nightly after 9pm in all areas as specified below.
We always strive to more quickly accommodate those whose style and imagination embrace the fantasy environment at The Edison as it is our intention to provide an exceptional, elevated guest experience in keeping with the theme of the space. We ask that you please refrain from wearing the following: athletic wear (including backpacks, shorts, jerseys, hoodies, ball caps) & flip-flops or sandals; short sleeved t-shirts; and excessively torn or baggy jeans.
Our Door Manager has sole discretion with regards to enforcement of our Dress Code and can make accommodations based upon special circumstances. We will never allow our Dress Code to be applied in a discriminatory fashion and accommodations will always be made as per any Federal, State or Local legal requirements. If you have any questions or concerns please ask to speak to the Manager on Duty directly. Any issues should be brought to our attention promptly so they can be addressed on site. If you have any questions or concerns regarding our Dress Code you can also email us at [email protected] or call us at (213) 613-0000 and ask to speak to a Manager.
